This recall involves 1,000-watt countertop convection microwave ovens manufactured under the Kenmore Elite brand name on April 27, 2017. This manufacturing date of the recalled microwave ovens is identifiable by the first six digits of their serial numbers, each of which begins with the numerals "170427". The model number of the recalled microwaves is "204.77603610". The brand name, model number and serial number can be found on the data plate on the back of the microwave ovens. Sears and Kmart Recall Kenmore Oscillating Fan Heaters Due to Fire and Burn Hazards
This recall involves Kenmore oscillating fan heaters with model number 127.90914310. The model number and Kenmore are printed on a silver sticker on the bottom of the unit. The fan heaters are gray and white, measure about 12 inches tall by 9 inches wide, have two dials at the top for temperature and fan speed and a red on-off button on the front base. Kenmore is printed on the front bottom of the fan heaters.

This recall involves Kenmore brand 35-, 50- and 70-pint dehumidifiers made by LG and manufactured between 2003 and 2005. The dehumidifiers are made of white plastic and are between 21 and 24 inches tall, about 15 inches wide and about 13.5 inches deep. They have a fan, humidity controls and a Kenmore logo on their top front panels. They come with front-loading water buckets. Some models include remote controls. The recall includes Bakers & Chefs® grills with model numbers Y0655 and Y0656; Members Mark® grills with model number Y0660; and Kenmore grills with model numbers 15221 and 15223. The model number can be located on a silver ID tag on the back or side of the grill head. The recalled grills are stainless steel construction or painted steel and have the brand name on the front control panel or on the grill lid. The Bakers & Chefs® grills have two casters, two wheels and two side shelves. The Members Mark® grill has four casters, two side shelves and a side burner. The Kenmore grills have four casters.
CPSC, Marshall Gas Controls Announce Recall of LP-Gas Regulators Used on Gas Grills
These low-pressure regulators control petroleum gas pressure in gas grills. The regulators are used with Char-Broil®, Kenmore® and Thermos® brand gas grills. There are two model gas regulators involved in the recall. Model 451 is a single outlet regulator used on grills with traditional burners in the main box. Model 452 is a dual outlet regulator used on grills with a side burner adjacent to the main box. The regulators have date codes printed on the valve body. CPSC, LG Electronics Inc. Announce Recall of Goldstar, General Electric, and Sears Kenmore Dehumidifiers
The recalled dehumidifiers are white, with a red auto shut off button, and regulators for fan speed and humidity control. The dehumidifiers were manufactured between November 1998 and May 1999, and have the following brand names and model numbers: Goldstar DH2510, DH4010 and DH5010; General Electric AHG25LAG1, AHG40LAG1 and AHG50LAG1; and Sears Kenmore 580.59600890 (60-pint model only). The brand name is located to the left of the control unit. The model number is located behind the condensate bucket, on a sticker on the left hand side.

Dishwasher Recalled by Whirlpool NEWS from CPSC U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Office of Information and Public Affairs Washington, DC 20207 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE CONTACT: Media Relations May 29, 1996 (301) 504-7908 Release # 96-133 CPSC and Whirlpool Announce Dishwasher Recall WASHINGTON, D.C. - In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), Whirlpool Corporation of Benton Harbor, Mich. is announcing the voluntary recall of approximately 500,000 Whirlpool and Kenmore brand dishwashers. Wiring in the door latch may overheat and catch fire. Whirlpool has received 20 claims of property damage. To date, no injuries have been reported. The dishwashers sold nationwide from June, 1991 through October, 1992 for $350 to $475. About half of the dishwashers were sold by Sears, Roebuck and Co. Affected Whirlpool brand dishwashers have model numbers beginning with DU8, DP8, DU9 and GDP, such as DU8700XY-1. Affected Kenmore dishwashers have model numbers beginning with 665, such as 665.1665591. In addition to model numbers, both Whirlpool and Kenmore have serial numbers ranging from FA2400000 through FA5299999 or from FB0100000 through FB1899999. These model numbers and serial numbers can be found on a plate on the right front edge of the tub, inside the dishwasher door. Owners of the affected models should immediately stop using them. Dishwasher doors should be unlatched until service is completed. Owners of Whirlpool brand dishwashers should have their model number and serial number available, then call (800) 874-9481. Whirlpool will arrange a service call or repair at no cost to consumers. Consumers who bought either Whirlpool brand or Kenmore brand affected dishwashers from Sears, Roebuck and Co. will be notified directly by Sears representatives. Arrangements for a service call/repair will also be made at no cost to consumers. CPSC And Amana Work To Fix Refrigerator Shock Hazard
November 3, 1994 Release # 95-023 WASHINGTON, D.C. - CPSC, Amana Refrigeration Inc. of Amana, Iowa, initiated a program to fix a shock hazard in certain side-by-side refrigerators.Amana estimates that approximately 5,000 of the 353,000 side-by-side refrigerators made from April 1993 to September 8, 1994, have a screw on the light cover that could come into contact with a concealed electrical wire to cause a shock. To date, Amana has received four reports of people receiving electrical shocks. The side-by-side refrigerators, which sold nationwide through appliance retailers for about $1,200 to $2,200, have serial numbers 9304000000 through 9409156208. Some of these refrigerators (Models 596.9530820, 596.9530850, 596.9530880, 596.9535610, 596.9535650 and 596.95356800) were sold under the Sears Kenmore brand name. Owners of these Kenmore models with serial numbers within the range will be contacted directly by Sears.Owners of Amana side-by-side refrigerators with serial numbers within the range who mailed in ownership registration cards will receive screw replacement kits from Amana. The kits contain instructions, a special non- conducting wrench, and nylon replacement screws. Consumers who believe they have one of the recalled units, and who did not mail in their registration cards, should call Amana immediately at (800) 688-9900 for a free screw replacement kit. Certain Sears Kenmore Dishwashers May Pose Fire Hazard
FEBRUARY 15, 1993 Release # 93-042 PRODUCT: Sears Kenmore dishwashers sold after February 1990. PROBLEM: The dishwasher's timer may catch fire. There have been 30 reports of timer failures due to shorting out and overheating. Four units have developed fires resulting in smoke damage to the surrounding countertops and cabinets. WHAT TO DO: Consumers with affected dishwashers should immediately stop using them and call 1-800-998-8470 to arrange for free repair. WASHINGTON,DC -- CPSC, Sears Merchandise Group is voluntarily contacting customers regarding 21 Kenmore dishwasher models sold in the last three years that could experience a timer failure that may result in a fire hazard. Sears is providing free service to correct the problem. Currently, 30 units of about 400,000 units sold have experienced timer failures due to shorting out and overheating. To date, four units have developed fires which resulted in smoke damage to the surrounding countertop and cabinets. Sears has no reports of injuries due to the fires or timer failures. Sears said it is working closely with its source, Frigidaire Company, the manufacturer of the dishwasher and the supplier of the necessary new parts, to respond as quickly as possible to customer requests. Sears will be using additional technicians for service calls. On February 6, Sears began sending letters to more than 300,000 customers who purchased one of the affected Kenmore dishwasher models made between February 1990 and October 1992. Sears is asking customers who have not yet received letters to check the model of their dishwasher against the list below. Owners of listed models should discontinue using the dishwasher immediately and turn the power off or unlatch the dishwasher's door until serviced. Sears is asking customers to call toll- free, 1-800-998-8470 for free service. Owners should have the model and serial numbers on hand when calling. Model and serial numbers are on the inside right door seal of the dishwasher's tub. The problem stems from the possibility of units developing an internal leak that may cause the dishwasher's timer mechanism to short out and overheat. Under certain circumstances, an overheated timer can cause a fire. To correct the problem, a Sears service technician will install new parts and inspect and replace other components as needed in the dishwasher door. Service will be done at no cost to the customer. Penney brand automatic drip coffeemaker models manufactured in 1985/86 which present a potential fire hazard. The recall includes certain Proctor-Silex coffeemakers with model numbers that begin with A4 or A5 and series numbers that end with 58 or 68. Recalled Sears Counter Craft and Sears Kenmore coffeemakers are models 360.480293 and 360.480272 (last digit may vary). Recalled J.C. Penney coffeemakers have the model number 784-2178H (or G) and a "C" number ending in 58 or 68. (See step-by-step instructions and full listings attached.) Coffeemakers manufactured after 1985 with model numbers beginning with A6 are not being recalled. Owners of these coffeemakers should call a toll-free number, 1-800-341-3333, to determine whether their coffemakers are included in the recall, and to get instructions on how to return them and to obtain reimbursement for shipping. The recalled coffeemakers are not repairable, and owners should unplug and stop using them immediately. Proctor-Silex will send each owner a new coffeemaker free of charge. Consumers are being asked to check the automatic drip coffeemakers at their place of work, as well as at home, to see if they have been recalled. The company believes that thermostats and thermal fuses purchased by Proctor-Silex for use in the coffeemaker may both malfunction causing overheating and a potential fire hazard. Proctor-Silex has received approximately 181 reports that their coffeemakers caught fire, including a number with property damage and a report of one minor burn injury that occurred when an owner attempted to pick up an overheated unit. Proctor-Silex estimates that approximately 800,000 of these coffeemakers are still in use. Owners of other Proctor-Silex, Sears Counter Craft, Sears Kenmore and J.C. Penney coffeemakers, which are not being recalled, should not call the 800 number. The lines need to be kept open for the owners of the recalled coffeemakers. In a voluntary modification program undertaken in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Sunbeam Leisure said that, because of the way the window was mounted, the glass may spontaneously break from the heat of the grill. Incidents of consumers reporting minor injuries from broken glass are being investigated. A limited number of the suspect grills were sold in the latter part of last year, but most have been sold in 1968. An estimated 320,000 grills are currently in consumer use including Yardmaster models sold by Channel Home Centers and Sears Kenmore models 10663, 10684, 10783 and 10883. Consumers who bought 1988 models of Sunbeam Leisure, Yardmaster and the above Kenmore propane gas grills with a glass window will be supplied with a free modification kit and instructions on remounting the window. Kenmore Canister Vacuum Cleaners Recalled by Sears NEWS from CPSC U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission Office of Information and Public Affairs Washington, DC 20207 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE June 23, 1987 Release # 87-036 THREE MODELS OF SEARS CANISTER VACUUM CLEANERS RECALLED WASHINGTON, DC -- In cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, Whirlpool Corporation of Benton Harbor, Michigan today announced the recall of Sears Kenmore canister vacuum cleaner models 116.2643581, 116.2643583 and 116.2645082 sold between November 1, 1986 and May 1, 1987. The company is recalling the vacuum cleaners to check the canister wiring. If installed improperly, the wiring could create an electrical short, causing the vacuum cleaner hose to catch on fire. There is also a potential for electrical shock. Whirlpool Corporation is aware of seven reported incidents involving overheating, with one of these incidents involving a minor burn. Between November 1, 1986 and May 1, 1987 approximately 33,000 of these canister vacuum cleaners were sold nationwide through Sears, Roebuck and Co. stores and catalogs. Various models sold for between $260 and $420, and carry the Kenmore brand name. Customers who purchased a Kenmore canister vacuum cleaner between November 1, 1986 and May 1, 1987 can check the model number of the vacuum they purchased by looking at the serial plate on the bottom of the canister. The motor in some of these cleaners has an opening which exposes moving parts when the canister is opened, the motor filter removed, and when the motor is running. These moving parts may cause severe lacerations or amputations to fingers placed in the opening. There have been 19 serious injuries involving these motor openings. Since 1976, approximately 1.3 million of these canister vacuums were sold nationwide through Sears, Roebuck & Co. stores and catalogs under the Kenmore name and model number. Models with various features sold for between $50 and $280. An easy-to-install, stick-on motor safety screen kit which covers the opening on top of the motor is being provided free of charge to owners of affected models. However, not all Sears Kenmore canister vacuum cleaners sold since 1976 need the kit. Whirlpool is informing known purchasers by direct mail. Consumers who bought canister vacuum cleaners at Sears since 1976 can find out if their vacuum motor requires a safety screen and receive additional information by calling 800-654- 1820 toll-free (have the model number from the bottom of the canister ready) or by visiting the customer service counter of the nearest Sears store. Consumers are warned to take extra care in handling their canister vacuum cleaners until the safety screen is installed. Whenever using the cleaner, unplug it before opening the canister lid.
