Recall notices are mailed to the first registered owner. If you bought used, inherited the appliance with the house, or moved since, the letter went somewhere else. Roughly a quarter of recalled vehicles on US roads are never repaired, and recall remedies are free to the owner for the life of the recall. The only cost is knowing.
